One last thing

I'd just like to thank all my pupils this year for being so patient and such good workers. It's been a great pleasure and a privilege to teach you. I've learnt many things from you. I'm just going to ask you to do one last thing for me. I'd love you to introduce comments in this article on the following subjects. They'll be very valuable for me:
  • Good things from the class
  • Negative things (things that need to be changed).
  • Your opinion on the blog.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

Webquest on Wales. Extended deadline

As I can see that not many people have had the chance to send the answers to the webquest I've decided to extend the deadline until Monday 16th of March. Besides, I've also decided to accept a minimum of 15 correct answers (out of 20). Thus, the criteria to award the prizes will be:
1. The pupils who get the highest number of correct answers.
2. The date of arrival.

Thank you all for your effort.

Never forget your Welsh WEBQUEST

Last Sunday the 1st of March was SAINT DAVID'S DAY. Saint David is the patron of Wales. On that day lots of celebrations are held throughout the country. This gives me a reason ( the fact that I have spent three years of my life in that beautiful part of the world and I've learnt to fall in love with the place and its warm and friendly people) to have our own SAINT DAVID'S week and learn something about Wales by doing the Never forget your Welsh webquest.

A webquest is is a learning activity used by educators. During this activity learners read, analyze, and synthesize information using the Internet. In this case it is a quiz about Wales. You have to answer 20 questions on Wales whose answers can be found on the net. The rules are the following:

  1. The webquest (the quiz) is in this link.
  2. All the answers are on the net. I promise
  3. Any student at the EOI in Mérida can take part.
  4. You can either send me an e-mail (peregar.eoimerida@gmail.com) with the answers or add a comment to this entry.
  5. The answers must be written in English. Just write 1. followed by the answer and so on.
  6. In the e-mail or comment you must state your name & surname, your class and your teacher's name.
  7. Prize: the first two e-mails with all the correct answers will get a prize (a book and a film).
  8. Deadline: Wednesday the 11th of March.
  9. The names of the winners and the correct answers will be published on the blog on Monday the 16th.
GOOD LUCK! COME ON, GIVE IT A TRY! YOU CAN LEARN A LOT AND EVEN WIN SOMETHING!

HINT: google and wikipedia are a good place to start.

Mercy by Duffy

Penélope Cruz (Acceptance speech)

Yes! She made it. It's the first time ever a Spanish Actress wins an oscar and we are proud (specially people from Alcobendas). I haven't seen the film. I don't know whether she deserved it for this role more than for her role in Volver (you can add your comments). To be honest with you I don't care. She's made history and it's extremelly difficult to get an oscar if you aren't American.
Anyway here you will be able to see her acceptance speech and an interview she gave whe she was nominated for "Volver" (her English is very good).
